Knit 1 Bike 2 Saline!!

Join us for the FUN from May 24 through August 1...
It's a Scavenger Hunt. It's a Yarn Bomb. It's a community-wide interactive art installation!
Here's how you can participate:
1. Follow the map and cruise around Saline to visit the knitted bikes. 
2. Collect a token from each bike.
3. Take your 10 tokens to Two Twelve Arts Center and be entered into a prize drawing. 
4. Winners will be announced at Summerfest in Saline, on Saturday, August 13, at 2pm on the stage before the Two Twelve Arts children's play!
Don't forget to snap a selfie with your favorite bike and post it on Instagram or facebook with #Knit1Bike2Saline@TwoTwelveArtsCenter .

Brushes & Brew at Salt Springs Brewery!

For the past couple of months, Two Twelve Arts Center has hosted Brushes & Brew at Salt Springs Brewery! During this special offering, Jean Canavan leads students in creating an acrylic painting as they enjoy one of Salt Springs' brews. All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies are provided. The classes take place the last Wednesday of the month (see our calendar at 212arts.org for exceptions). The May class is already full, but stay tuned for offerings in June, July and August. This class is also available on a Pop-Up basis. Contact us to set up a class for you and at least seven of your friends!

Meaningful Jewelry

Cornelia Wende's Meaningful Jewelry class was held at Two Twelve over the past couple of weeks, and her students created beautiful pieces!! In this class, students learned to wrap natural material with various wire wrapping techniques to create a unique piece of jewelry. The goal of the class was to focus on using natural material to enhance beauty through sterling silver wire wrapping. Take a look at the wonderful results below:

Our Third Annual Camp Two Twelve Arts - A Success!

We had a fun, creative, art-filled weekend at Camp Faholo! The weather was gorgeous - not at all like a usual February in Michigan - and the campers enjoyed a variety of art classes and activities. Check out some photos from the weekend below.

Bookmaking x 2!

Earlier this month, Alvey Jones and Barbara Brown held a Three Introductory Book Structures class. During this class, students learned to make three simple, but elegant book structures: an Accordion Fold Book with Pockets, a Flag Book, and a Pamphlet Stitch Book. The experienced instructors discussed ways of modifying bookbinding tools and ideas for design materials for embellishments.
