Happy Art Hour: Landscape

Last night, Jean Canavan held another fun Happy Art Hour class at the Spotted Dog Winery. This week's painting was a landscape, loosely inspired by Wolf Kahn. Jean taught her students how to paint using a step-by-step process in acrylics, and each painting turned out a little different, and very fun! The Spotted Dog provided the wine and snacks to complete this artful and fun-filled evening! Look for the next Happy Art Hour on August 5, where students will create a Koi Fish painting. Two Twelve and The Spotted Dog will also set up private Happy Art Hour offerings for groups of 5 or more. Call (734)944-2787 if you're interested.

Time Machine! A Collaborative Art Installation

Two Saturdays ago, the public was invited to participate in an installation at the Saline District Library. This collaborative installation was designed around the library's summer reading theme, "Gear Up 4 Summer Reading." Two Twelve's Keith McGuire designed the Steampunk-inspired time machine, while the public helped him make it a reality. Kids and adults not only assisted in putting together the time machine, but they created Time Twisters with the help of Two Twelve Volunteers. Look for the time machine on the  library grounds this summer, and check out some photos from the event below.

While you're at the library, be sure to visit last summer's collaborative installation, the Hobbit Shire.
