May & June at the Café: Katherine Downie's "Greenfield Village: Up Close"

Stop by My Favorite Café in Saline to view the intriguing work of Katherine Downie. Katherine's show, Greenfield Village: Up Close, explores Henry Ford’s amazing outdoor museum through close-up images of some of the Village’s hidden treasures.  A mix of photographs and watercolor paintings, the show will pull viewers in to look at small details often passed over or merely glanced at, and to pause and appreciate how an everyday scene can be a thing of beauty.  Viewers are invited to decide for themselves if a doorknob or set of drawers or complicated machinery are simply utilitarian, or if they, too, could be art.

Katherine is also Two Twelve's Artist in Residence, which you can read all about here.

Be sure to check out Katherine's show during the months of May and June, and stop by during her Artist's Reception at the café in Saturday, June 7, from 2 to 4pm.
