Clay Date with Cathy: Fairy Houses

Over the past few weeks, students have been enjoying a Clay Date with Cathy, where they created Fairy Houses. In this two-session class, students built and glazed unique fairy houses that can be placed in their homes or gardens. Each of the houses turned out great, with fun and whimsical details.
Look out for more Clay Date with Cathy classes in our current brochure. Students will be creating a Koi Fish in March, and a Bodacious Bloom in April. Call us at (734)944-ARTS (2787) to register.

Synopsis:
The play is made up of 12 monologues by a range of characters from the small town of Bentlee. In ways both subtle and blatant, each monologue is related to an incident that occurred in the town years ago when an infant disappeared from her crib. The town was heatedly divided over whether the parents were somehow responsible for the child's disappearance. The baby was never found. The parents left Bentlee and were never heard from again. Sixteen years later, the church where the infant’s father was once a pastor burned to the ground. Mayble Keyes, an elderly deaconess sorting clothes for a charity event, died in the fire. On a partially burned wall investigators find scrawled in red paint a passage from Luke 12: ‘For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid that shall not be known.’ The case remains unsolved, but some in town have speculated that the fire and the disappearance of the baby may somehow be connected. The truth will likely never be known.
