New Class Offering!

Occasionally we offer classes that are not listed in our current brochure. Many times, these classes are brand new to Two Twelve, and if you sign up you could be one of the first students to experience a fun and new class.

Kathy Campau is offering a new class called 'Fused Glass Wind Chime.' The class will take place on Monday, May 21, from 6:30 to 8:30pm OR Wednesday, May 23, from 1 to 3pm. If you are one of many students who have taken and enjoyed Kathy's 'Fused Glass Pendant' class, then this class is for you. Learn how to create a colorful glass wind-chime that will make beautiful music where ever it hangs. The class is $25, with a $10 material fee.

May and June Artist of the Month: Val Mann Recent Works

Friday, May 4, from 7 to 9pm is our May and June Artist of the Month Reception. Valerie Mann is the featured artist, with an exhibit entitled "Val Mann Recent Works." The reception takes place at Two Twelve, is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

Val's work has been shown professionally throughout the U.S., Canada and Germany for 23 years. She has a BFA in painting from the University of Illinois and an MFA in sculpture from Michigan State University. Val has taught students of all ages, from Kindergarten to adult, and plans to teach this summer at Two Twelve. As a mother of two, Val enjoys all things outdoors, especially hiking, biking and camping. She even home-schooled her kids for a year by driving across the U.S., camping and visiting 9 National Parks. In her artist biography, Val notes that "the change in geography and in the details of nature, and the human effort to make the landscape accessible had a profound effect on me and my art."

Val's recent works on display at Two Twelve explore line, color and texture through mixed-media encaustic studies of vintage sewing patterns, simple color studies of birds and plants, and 3D contour drawings of birds. Don't miss your opportunity to meet Val at the reception and view her unique and interesting works.
