This Tuesday marked the beginning of our newly formed Art Escape program. Art Escape features a different class every Tuesday from September 13 to November 29. All classes take place from 9:30am to 12pm, giving students the opportunity to squeeze in a few hours of art before taking on the rest of their day. This new program is a great opportunity for busy parents who have some time for creating after taking the kids to school, or those individuals interested in taking morning instead of evening classes.
All of the Art Escape classes allow students to produce a creation in just two and a half hours, and the entire array of classes offered is a great a sampling of many of our usual evening classes.
The first Art Escape class we held was "Tile-a-While" taught by our Pottery Studio Manager and resident potter, Sharon Graf-Horning. Students experimented with various techniques in stamping and creating texture in clay, and then produced tiles that they can use for decoration, incorporate into a larger work of art, or use for whatever they please. The tiles are still in the drying and firing process, but here's a look at some of the work created (pre-glazing) during class.
The Art Escape classes have been filling up quickly--so sign up today! Check out our brochure (which can be found on our website) to see a full listing of the other Art Escape offerings. If you sign up for three Art Escape classes, you receive a 10% discount.
Major kudos to Gaines Collins, our Special Events Coordinator, for creating and organizing the Art Escape program. We are looking forward to many fun Tuesday mornings here at Two Twelve.
